Submitted by editor

DESCRIPTION

Everyone knows Brussels sprouts are good for you, but for most of us they're holiday fare only. Bring them into your everyday meal planning with this tasty, simple recipe.

YIELD

4 servings

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 tbsp butter
1 1/2 tbsp oil
2 cups Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved through the core
2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

1. In a large heavy sauté pan, over medium heat, add butter and oil.
2. When butter is melted, place Brussels sprout halves, flat side down in pan. Cover with lid and cook for approximately 12 minutes, or until bottoms are golden brown. Turn and cook for 3 more minutes.
3. Add lemon juice, season with salt and pepper and toss thoroughly.
