Randy and Alma Hawes enjoyed these delectable burgers in their last 100-mile supper. Use this recipe as an opportunity to try making your own mustard and cranberry sauce, if you've never made them before.
4 burgers
1 lb. ground turkey
1/3 cup finely chopped fresh mushrooms
1/4 cup bread crumbs
2 tbsp. finely chopped onion
1/2 tsp. dried sage leaves
1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. mustard
1/3 cup cranberry sauce
4 homemade sandwich rolls
2 tbsp. butter
1. Prepare and heat grill.
2. Combine turkey, mushrooms, bread crumbs, onion, sage, thyme and salt in large bowl and mix gently. Form into four patties.
3. Grill 4-6" from medium high coals for 10-15 minutes until burgers are no longer pink in center, or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
4. Spread cut sides of buns with butter and grill for 1-2 minutes on grilling surface until toasted.
5. In small bowl, combine mustard and cranberry sauce and serve with burgers on buns.
